AMD Ryzen 7 3700U with integrated gpu (AMD ATI 02:00.0 Picasso)

symmetria
Hello to all.

I would like the kind help of the members of the forum. My system is described in the title. My MidnightBSD usb mem stick boots OK but after a while everything freezes (see attached here).
I also tried to set hw.syscons.disable = 1 (at boot time, I pressed Esc and then I typed

> set hw.syscons.disable = 1

(I hope it is correct)

 and then

> boot

But the system froze again (at an earlier stage).

Any ideas?

Thank you all in advance.

I haven't had a chance to try on a 3000 series mobile CPU.

There is a sysctl that you may need to set
hw.pci.mcfg=0

This works on an older Thinkpad A485 with a 2500u at least.

Also be sure to use the UEFI amd64 version on this hardware.

Dear Laffer1

first of all thank you for your reply. I am writing this answer just for your interest.

The sysctl that you proposed to set

hw.pci.mcfg=0

actually worked perfectly. The problem is that I could not finish the installation (i.e. after the reboot, the kernel could not be found). Probably this that to do with the inefficiency of the installer to recognize and set up both my Ethernet and wireless cards.

That's a pity.

Thank you again.
